Guns Across America Jan. 19th 2013

It was sad at work today, I talked to about a dozen guys, gun owners, and only one had heard anything about this event. We need to get it out by somebody like Rush Limbaugh, Shaun Hannity, or the like. I don't think it's reaching enough people, and we're running short of time. I hope I'm wrong.

Is anybody else going to this rally from this site? I feel like I'm spinning my wheels here locally. I'm making calls, trying to find info, same answer from everybody, "I haven't heard anything about it". Any suggestions?

The Facebook page for Ohio's event that day lists 214 people as coming for sure. Unlike the State Farm commercial featuring the young lady talking about her boyftriend the French model, I don't believe everything on the internet. I'd be pleasantly surprised if more than a third of those 214 show up, and as few as possible are the smelly, hirsute, camo-clad militia doofuses.

I'm gonna stop by but if it's poorly attended it'll be a short stay.

There are few from Missouri that plan on attending (myself included). I only found out thanks to hickok45 and nutnfancy from good 'ol youtube. It would be nice if GOA or the NRA would advertise it on their front-page.

Here's one going in Idaho! And I've got 4 of my friends going too. So that's what we do. If all of us take more than just ourselves we can make an impressive showing.

From what I've seen, we should have a pretty good turn-out here in Alabama.

This makes me so happy knowing that there has been a good turnout in many states...hoping to hear good news about the turnout here in FL! I unfortunately had to choose between a final overall review/study session for the LEO state exam I take in 11 days, and attending this event. Wish the review would have been any other day :[

We had what I estimate at over 800 to a 1,000 people there today and if you think that's impressive, realize that it was about 5° too! But they opened up the Rotunda of the Capitol for us so it got a little better. All had a wonderful time for a very very important cause. Our 2nd Amendment! Later & Peace,

Some reports put Ohio's attendance at "hundreds." By my reckoning, we easily passed 1,000. At one point, we had a continuous streaming crowd walking around the block, covering all four sides.

The Columbus Dispatch has photos of the event, one of them featuring some guy named eye95, wearing his Dan Wesson 1911. *grins*

We had around 500+ at the rally in Baton Rouge, Louisiana yesterday. As for I am concerned it was a piss pour turnout.

My cousin and I went to Harrisburg. Had a good time. I guessed around 5 or 6 hundred, he heard it was a thousand in attendance. I think it turned out good, considering a lot of people didn't hear about it, and the gun owners were all split up around the country, attending a lot of guns shows, gun ranges and rallies. Collectively, it was a good show of love for the second amendment!

Salem Oregon rally. Crowd reports are between 1000 and 3000 depending on who you talk to. I'd guess about 2,000 from what I saw and a quick head count of 400 sf of the crowd quickly multiplied by an estimate of how large the area filled was, then accounting for the "outliers" who were across the street and on the fringes.

Short video from the steps and then showing the crowd is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHOkiC2c5-Q
