need hotel in Milwaukee

Can anyone recommend a "friendly" hotel near UW-Milwaukee on Kenwood? I need to book a room for a conference in April. Thanks.

Can't think of any hotels right now, but will ask my GPS when I'm over that way tomorrow.
I can drive by & look at doors.
It's largely a residential neighborhood.
Will you have a car, or take a cab, or walk?

And if you'd like to meet a local (or a few locals) for dinner, post when it's closer to time. We'll see if we can arrange a welcoming committee.

Very neighborly of you. I will have a car, so anything within 10 or 15 minutes of there would be great. I am open to dinner if anyone is interested. It would be the evening of 4/27. Look forward to your recommendations.

I'd recommend not going toward downtown from UWM (at least, not looking for a hotel) for several reasons.
1) more expensive
2) harder parking
3) more traffic
4) narrower streets

It appears they have a breakfast buffet, and within a mile north of there are several eateries (mostly fast food, but there is a Denny's type place). They're on the river & away from the highway.

Still need to check Sprecher Brewery:
a little brewery about 1/2 mile away which gives tours (ending with samples of sodas &/or beers) & sells bottles of their products.
