First link: Running about 7:1 against Obama's gun crab. (~550 votes)

Second link: Running about 2:1 against a "AWB." (~4,500 votes)

Connecticut News Polls on assault weapons and gun control

Feinstein has classified those as "assault claws" and banned them.

The second link only contains a poll about Lance Armstrong.

Poll results (at least they acknowledge that its not a scientific poll):::

    What do you think?
(Note: This is an unscientific poll.)

Should Congress approve President Obama's gun control proposals?

Yes. They are common-sense measures that work toward keeping guns out of the wrong hands, and don't impinge on the Second Amendment. (211 responses)

    13.7%

No. We don't need more gun laws. (1286 responses)

    83.3%

Partly. Congress should approve universal background checks and a ban on high-capacity magazines. The assault rifle proposal is more symbolic than substantive. (47 responses)

    3.0%

Seriously, 0.7% change in roughly 6 hours is pretty amazing, especially when you consider that most folks are asleep between midnight and 6 AM.

That "Partly" group really demonstrates why we need to stop preaching to the choir, stop yelling at our opponents, and start focusing on the "undecided/uncommitted". Sure, this poll is not even close, but that 3% figure is pretty much a constant in describing the folks whose minds can be changed either way.

Pointing out that the antis are dancing in the blood of victims and offering nothing that will really reduce "gun violence" or provide more safety won't help. Throwing statistics and study results showing we are "right" won't help. The undecided need to be told/shown how coming over to our side will individually benefit them. That usually means needing to shut up and listen to them, and to stop preaching at them and start asking questions and (again) listening to their answers.

    stay safe.
