I was thumbing over Drudge Report this morning, and this article happened to catch my eye.

I would really like you to focus on this line though....

Lawless told Campus Reform on Tuesday that in her view the findings were proof that President Obama should move swiftly, and without the permission of Congress if necessary, in order limit the availability of firearms.

“The next generation plans on owning guns, so if we want to avoid the tragedies that we’ve seen… we obviously need to move quickly and if an executive order is the way to do it, then that is the way the to do it,” she said.

Translation.....

"We need to move quick to prevent people from exercising their rights anytime in the future" Interesting that a professor with the last name "Lawless" is proposing that the president violate all kinds of established law without congressional consent to violates people's rights....

Just for some anecdotal evidence of this:

I am 21. I never fired a gun until about a year ago. I now own four.

My girl friend now has a gun of her very own. At times she is a better shot than I am.

My best friend is buying one very soon after I took him shooting.

I was just at the range and at one point I didn't see anybody over 30. In fact I frequently see large groups of college students come together. One or two of them will have their own guns. The others are just along for the ride or rent guns.

I frequently meet people in my college classes that are into guns.

Yes, the gun culture is alive and well in the next generation. And not all college students are liberals. Incidentally, the moron I saw today who couldn't clear a jam on his own weapon and walked from the range to the gun store to ask for help while pointing it at a clerk appeared to be in his 40s.

I'm borderline "young american". I've owned 1 single gun for over a decade. I bought 3 guns in 2012

It is because of the video games.

My two boys spend a lot of time playing Call Of Duty, etc for many hours a day. No way these guys won't ALWAYS own guns.
My (much younger) daughters see my sons playing their video games and love to shoot their pink stock BB gun. No way these girls won't ALWAYS own guns.
I credit the video games mostly, though having dad teach them that THEY are responsible for their safety does help. :banana:

thats key, the parents teaching the children how to properly and respectfully operate/handle/clean any form of firearm.

even from personal experience I can say myself and my younger brother are gun enthusiasts and have a deep respect for them and their proper usefulness in society. my father taught us well. however, my younger sister, not so much. she's not against guns per say, but she agrees with feinstein's bill if that says anything. and take note, she was not raised by my father; my brother and I were. My mother is mostly neutral on everything, but she never taught my sister anything gun related. once my father was out of the picture, I would have taught my sister, but at the time was not legally old enough to do so. and by the time I was, she was old enough to be interested in boys, and was always going out lol
