As many of you know, NY recently shoved their shiny new gun laws onto the books. Hawaii is trying to follow suite with their own AWB among other things. With the new laws that are being introduced right now, if these were passed I believe it would make Hawaii the strictest state in the union regarding firearms. Here in Hawaii we already have an extensive process to aquire and mandatory registration of all firearms. Attached is a link to the full bill. I am trying to get the word out on this before it is passed under everyone's nose like NY did. The local news here has not been reporting on this at all. There are also other bills recently introduced including annual renewal of firearms registration including a fee which currently there is no fee and once you register you are set. Also requiring proof of ownership of a certain firearm to buy ammunition for it.

Perhaps someone with some legal background can confirm or not if section 3 at the end means that legally acquired weapons already in the hands of those are grandfathered or if they will be subject to confiscation or class c felony as it spells out in previous sections.
