My wife found this article talking about a man who open carries in his local JC Penny to show that guns are safe.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/...guns-safe-law-abiding-citizens_n_2504142.html

"A Utah man brought a rifle and a pistol with him to a J.C. Penney department store to demonstrate that guns can be safe in the hands of law-abiding citizens.

On Wednesday, Cindy Yorgason was shopping at the J.C. Penney in Riverdale when she saw a man with a rifle slung across his chest, extra ammunition and a sidearm in a holster on his right hip, according to KSL 5 TV. She took some photos and posted them to Facebook, where images quickly went viral."

While I feel the article is neutral, the comments are not. Let's get in there and show them that we support him.

NOTE: Although I know the rules about LGOC, I'd like to remind everyone that we need to stick together as a community and show support where it is due.

He was carrying openly a sidearm in a holster. As for the ladies comment of just wanting to get out of there~~Why in the helll was she taking pictures instead of getting out of there? Must not have been that scared.

I commend this man for openly carrying the sidearm and the rifle, both of which were done legally.
I also commend the local law enforcement for not attempting to charge him with some bogus crap law

Good on him for exercising his rights. The more people that realize that not everyone who carries a gun is a criminal, the better.

This guy was not in the mall. The JCpenny in riverdale is in a strip mall. The actual mall (Newgate mall) is about a mile away. He would have been promptly escorted out of the newgate mall for OC, I know from firsthand experience. I have been open carrying in UT for 12 years and only ever had one problem at Wal-Mart and the malls. Pretty OC friendly out here even with the trolley square mall shooting a few years back.
