The show was great! It took me 3 full days to walk the entire show. I spoke with someone who had a pedometer and he said that when he walked the whole show, he did 53 miles!

Saw tons of great stuff, including some new training stuff that we really liked. Bought some steel targets for our range classes, got some great free swag, and rubbed elbows with a bunch of celebrities.

I'm beat!

There was almost no talk about politics, Obama, or the current mess with gun laws, etc. It was strictly guns and fun!

The crew from Red Jacket!

In just two weeks the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show kicks off in Harrisburg. It's billed as the largest show of its kind in the country, but today one of its' largest sponsors pulled out in protest.

But in the wake of the Newtown shootings and the recent response from President Obama pushing for a ban of assault weapons. CBS 21 News first told you last week the Eastern Sports and Outdoors show banned assault weapons.

But one of the major sponsors of the show announced through facebook they will no longer participate.

In a facebook status posted this afternoon, Cabela's stated, "After careful consideration regarding Cabela's business practices and the feelings of our customers, Cabela's will, unfortunately not have a presence at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show."

We've also learned other local businesses like Trop Gun Shop in Elizabethtown, Kinsey's Outdoors from Mount Joy and Lancaster Archery Supply won't participate because of the ban.

We reached out to a spokesperson from Reed Expos, the company that hosts the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show, but they did not immediately respond to our calls.

It was huge. Every time I went into one ballroom thinking it was the last, there was another room behind it, chocked full of goodies.

Well it took a while to figure out you were at THE National Shot Show.....Glad you had fun while the rest of us were suffering back home:lol:

Any new and improved things worth mentioning?

I was very happy to see Cabela's pull their sponsorship. I'll be making the trip up to their store in PA soon to show my support and say thanks.

Not at all official, but judging from the user comments flooding the Bass Pro Shops Facebook page, they have not decided to join Cabela's in protest. That is unfortunate. We really need for ALL the pro-RKBA communities to stick together on this.

Saw some new training things I liked.

Also liked the Kel-Tec KSG shotgun and their pistol caliber carbine.

There was just too much to see. It was enormous.

I have no idea what [Rob Pincus'] feelings about OC may be....I didn't ask.

"I am vemeh...see, I am so passionate about it I can't even talk about it. I am vehemently against the ass-clownery of people carrying openly to make a political statement."

Note also that he's voiced his opposition in multiple media.

It's not much of an insult being called an Ass Clown by someone that looks like he'll get taller when he takes Viagra.

I guess if I had a tiny gun and wore sloppy shorts and T-shirts, I might not advocate for open carry so much, too.

Aside, I'll bet he also has a compact firearm.
