SB176
Would remove meetings of 1

SB173
Businesses who allow carrying of firearms by patrons/employees will be immune from liability arising from that decision

SB205
Removes government meetings, sports arenas and pari-mutual wagering locations from the list of prohibited places

SB206
Removes the administrative fine for failure to notify and has some other clean up language

SB401
Any person who has not bee convicted of a violent felony crime and who is lawfully able to own or possess a firearm under the Oklahoma Constitution is considered to be verified pursuant to the federal Gun-Free School Zones Act

SB548
Would make federal gun bans/restrictions unenforcable in OK

SB552
Allows persons over 21 to open carry a loaded pistol in a motor vehicle for the purpose of self-defense without a handgun license. The person may leave a concealed, loaded pistol in a parked or unattended, locked vehicle; provided, the person in legal control of the pistol is at a location other than his or her own personal residence or business
Also prevents being disarmed or restrained without reasonable and articulable suspicion of other criminal activity.

SB658
Would allow firearms to be left in a vehicle on school property

SB775
Persons who have been granted a VPO, who has completed the application and safety training class, can be issued a temporary (6 month) handgun license. If the person wishes to continue with the licensing process, the application fee will be reduced to $25.00

SB828
Changes the notifcation to law enforcement so an officer has to ask if you have a firearm, then you would be required to disclose the fact if you were carrying

SB829
Would allow any school system employee with a handgun license to carry a concealed handgun, have the handgun in a locked classroom or office or in a lockbox designed for firearms. The person must notify their immediate supervisor that they have a concealed firearm in one of those locations.

SB830
Would allow firearms to be kept in locked vehicles in school parking lots.

SB831
Allows for open car carry

SB833
Another school parking lot exemption bill

SB840
Removes government meetings, sports arenas and pari-mutuel wagering locations from the prohibited places list
Adds new law so anyone with an Oklahoma Handgun license to bypas security checkpoints when entering into state, city or county facilities. Nothing in this section shall allow law enforcement to search any person or inspect any weapon without probable cause of a crime.
The problem I see is that these governmental buildings are still prohibited places. This bill does not provide an exemption for that.

SB846
Would create a sales tax holiday on the sale of firearms, ammunition or hunting supplies on the last Friday before July 4 and ending the following Sunday

SB855
Removes governmental meetings from the prohibited places list
Adds new law regarding the confidentiality of handgun license holder information

SB884
Allows any active duty military or National Guard, or military reserve to use their military ID as an Oklahoma handgun license

SB897
Any person being transported in a law enforcement vehicle shall forfeit his or her handgun to the officer in charge of the vehicle

SB901
Upon demand of a law enforcement officer a person carrying a firearm must display the handgun license and a state issued photo ID

SB934
Clarifies language about when minors can possess a firearm

SB977
Lot of unrelated stuff here, but cleans up the reciprocity clause.

I'm not so sure I agree with SB884...do ya have any clarification on it? was this an issue before?

Currently if you want to get an OK Handgun license to carry a firearm, you must be an OK resident with an OK Drivers license.

What if you are in the military and don't want to change your residency status from your home state. Your home state has constitutional open carry but permitted concealed carry. You do not have a CCW from your home state for whatever reason. Currently there is no legal way to carry a firearm in OK given this situation.

This would allow members of the armed forces to carry a firearm without having to become an OK resident to get the permit. Last year we passed a law allowing anyone from the 4 non-permitting states to use their drivers license as a permit while in OK, why not do the same for the military.

According to the SDA they can:

"Establish a residency in the State of Oklahoma. For purposes of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act, the term residency shall apply to any person who either possesses a valid Oklahoma driver license or state photo identification card, and physically maintains a residence in this state or has permanent military orders within this state and possesses a valid driver license from another state where such person claims residency"

I don't agree with allowing military indiscriminate carry. Some military, even active, can have felonies, domestic assaults or other disqualifying factors. I spent 26 years in the military and I have seen most of it.
