The session has just begun, but we have lots to do. Here is where we are at.

Connecticut, January 22, 2013:

The 2013 legislative session convened on January 9th and Connecticut Carry is already tracking ten bills that will impact the right to bear arms in Connecticut. We expect that number to increase.

We ask that our members be ready and willing to respond quickly to any notices of public hearings that they receive. It is extremely important to have a monumental turnout at each public hearing and to make a strong, polite and professional presence at the Legislative Office Building anytime the legislators are discussing issues that impact the right to bear arms.

We will do our absolute best to give as much notice for public hearings and to track bills that we suspect will impact your rights in this state. We ask that you set aside as much time as you can to be at each hearing, and that you also look out for legislative issues in our state.

We have an email address specifically for you to use when alerting us to legislative issues: legislativeissues@ctcarry.com

Connecticut Carry is dedicated to advancing and protecting the fundamental civil rights of the men and women of Connecticut to keep and bear arms for defense of themselves and the state as guaranteed by the United States Constitution and the Constitution of Connecticut.

To also note for people unfamiliar with a bill's process:

During the committee hearings one can give a statement either orally or verbally .. one does not have to physically be there to get your voice heard. I have been told b many legislators that they do read all statements.

And its during the committee hearings that you get a voice. No where else, other than contacting members directly.

And its in the committee process that is the best time/opportunity to kill bills.

With your written statements you can include exhibits etc...call your legislator to get assistance (most will even provide the goofy qty of copies required and get you signed up for a verbal appearance).
