Normally, I'd post this in the Missouri section, but I think it's just the tip of the iceberg of what passes for critical thinking when dealing with "gun violence". That means everybody ought to be aware of the depth folks can sink to in figuring out ways to "Do Something" without ever actually addressing the issue.

stay safe.

Little Johnny and Jane still can't read, but the schools want to get into knowing which parents to be paranoid about because they might bring a gun to the parent-teacher conference, or because their precious little snowflake might pick up one of the multitude of guns they leave scattered about the house and bring it to school for "Show and Shoot".

"Chutzpah" does not even come close to describing this.

stay safe.

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) -
Ever since the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, gun control has been a hot topic. Now comes word of a Missouri lawmaker who wants any parent who owns guns to notify their child's school.

The lawmaker says she hopes the already filed bill will bring awareness to schools and to parents about keeping their guns locked up.

It's the next idea in a long list of proposed ideas for gun control, making it mandatory for parents to notify their child's school about their gun supply.

"I am not trying to take away the gun rights of any parents or any other citizens I believe in the second amendment," says State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal.

She says she wants the violence in schools to stop and this is just one different idea that no one has brought up.

"It encourages parents to make sure they store their guns safely in their home, it also gives the school districts the opportunity to help encourage gun safety in the community and in the household," says the Senator.

"I agree with it, we need to know because a lot of parents aren't governing their homes properly," says parent Danaelle Stidum.

I know a better idea, let's spank naughty children and make them play outside.

Then in school teach them firearm safety, even it is something like Eddy Eagle to start with.

Ewww yeah... ummmm... bad idea. The parent is regulated by the state as to the nature of such "spanking". Mr. and Mrs. Parent shouldn't risk prosecution. Of course the child is not ""naughty" because of lack of discipline, but because they are deficient in one of the many mind altering drugs.

Then in school teach them firearm safety, even it is something like Eddy Eagle to start with.

We can't get basic ideas about liberty like the US Constitution taught in schools... I'd hate to teach a bunch of ignorant, medicated socialist children how to use firearms.

/ partial sarcasm

The good news is that ignorance is curable. A good honest education and part of that is about guns. Oh and keep D.A.R.E out of schools, without it many of them might never know what drugs are. I learned about drugs through D.A.R.E. and found out it was 99+% lies. If you're going to teach them about drugs be 100% honest with them. Speed might help you out get a job done once or twice but after that it will start to burn up your system. I don't know anything first hand about any refined drugs. Bring in people who have used the drugs and have them explain what it feels like to use and why they want to stop using.
That would be more effective than a cop talking about how he's gone into drug houses and almost getting shot....

Sex ed, sex feels great! This is what can happen if you do it though. If you choose to not abstain then please talk to your parents about it and here are some condoms. As parents you've got to be open and honest with your children and create an environment where they can be comfortable talking to you about mistakes and choices.

Socialism has a high rate of success of being cured if treated individually. Part of the cure is make them do chores and pay the neighbor's child the money instead of the child who worked for it. That starts to cure them quick.

As for the medication, more than 99% of that can be cured with real food and lots of time in the woods away from phones. Give them bikes, sticks, and a time to come home, (sunset). Chase them out of the house and that will help with much of the medication.

Opps partial derail did try to keep it on topic though.
