AN ACT REQUIRING REPORTING OF FIREARM INVENTORY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That chapter 529 of the general statutes be amended to require any
2 person, sole proprietorship, partnership, firm, corporation or other
3 form of business or legal entity that sells or manufactures firearms in
4 this state to report a physical inventory of such firearms to the
5 Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. If any
6 firearm cannot be matched to a legal purchaser or transferee, the
7 licensed seller or manufacturer shall be required to furnish proof that
8 said firearm was transferred or disposed of legally. If such seller or
9 manufacturer fails to comply with these inventory requirements, the
10 Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection shall impose
11 a fine with proceeds allocated to support the inventory program.

To allow the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection
to better monitor the manufacture and sale of firearms in this state and
to identify firearms
