AN ACT CONCERNING GUN VIOLENCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That the general statutes be amended to: (1) Update the definition of
2 "assault weapon" in section 53-202a of the general statutes, (2) prohibit
3 the sale and possession of large ammunition magazines, (3) establish
4 stricter standards for pistol and revolver permits and purchases, (4)
5 establish permit requirements for ammunition purchases, and (5)
6 establish a Gun Offender Registry.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce gun violence by enacting comprehensive reforms regarding
the possession, purchase and sale of assault weapons, pistols, revolvers
and ammunition.
