AN ACT CONCERNING THE REGULATION OF FIREARMS, ASSAULT
WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That the general statutes be amended with respect to firearms,
2 assault weapons and ammunition to: (1) Strengthen record retention
3 requirements; (2) limit the number of firearms that a person may
4 legally purchase or otherwise receive in a single transaction or within a
5 single period of time; (3) require the same background checks prior to
6 the purchase of a firearm at a gun show as are required prior to the
7 purchase of a firearm from a federally-licensed firearm dealer; (4) limit
8 the sale of ammunition to persons who are legally eligible to possess or
9 receive firearms; (5) designate a weapon as an assault weapon under
10 section 53-202a of the general statutes if such weapon has only one
11 functional feature of an assault weapon, rather than two of the
12 functional and nonfunctional features currently provided; and (6)
13 prohibit the possession of certain ammunition feeding devices that
14 accept a large number of rounds.
