AN ACT CONCERNING THE REGULATION OF FIREARMS BY THE
STATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That the general statutes be amended to provide that no
2 municipality may regulate, restrict or license the ownership,
3 possession, use, purchase, sale, transportation or transfer of firearms,
4 ammunition for firearms or components for firearms, nor may any
5 municipality maintain or enact any ordinance or regulation which in
6 any way regulates, restricts, prohibits, licenses or affects the
7 ownership, possession, use, purchase, sale, transportation or transfer
8 of such firearms, ammunition or components except as otherwise
9 provided in state or federal law; that such matters are under the
10 exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal government, and the
11 laws relating to such matters are intended to fully occupy the areas
12 described and preempt any city or town, or any political subdivision of
13 a city or town, from legislating on such matters except when expressly
14 permitted by the state; that no municipality may define any activity
15 related to firearms as constituting a public nuisance or as being
16 detrimental to public health and safety; and that any inconsistent

seems we do actually have a rep with a brain. after the seemingly hundreds of rediculous bills being proposed, I was starting to lose faith. this just brought it back a hair. a hair.
