AN ACT CONCERNING THE SALE OF AMMUNITION FOR A PISTOL
OR REVOLVER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That chapter 529 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the
2 sale of ammunition for a pistol or revolver to any person unless such
3 person holds a valid permit to carry a pistol or revolver issued
4 pursuant to subsection (b) of section 29-28 of the general statutes or a
5 valid eligibility certificate issued pursuant to section 29-36f of the
6 general statutes.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce illegal handgun use by requiring a person to hold a valid
permit to carry a pistol or revolver or eligibility certificate in order to
purchase handgun ammunition.

this law would be illegal. most importantly due to the fact that a permit is only needed to CARRY a handgun outside the home. it is perfectly legal for a person to own and/or carry a handgun inside their own residence. there are LOTS of these types of people out there. and setting a law that makes it illegal for them to buy ammunition will leave them defenseless and their gun useless, and isn't much different than illegally confiscating their perfectly legal gun
