"2A Educational and Awareness Event" in Central City, KY Feb-16

Is anyone else aware of this?

This county has a very "pro 2A" Sheriff... however, the Police Chief of Greenville, Muhlenberg County, KY - not so much.

    Statement by Muhlenberg Sheriff:

When asked how he would respond to the government, his official supervisor, directing him to take away or arrest citizens with weapons in the case that there will be a total gun ban, McGhee responded that he “…will not do that. I will not violate anyone’s constitutional right. I am sworn to uphold the constitution and I will not violate a citizen’s constitutional right. There are other means of action to remedy that have not been explored yet and I don’t even think the law will come down to that anyway.”
Statement by Greenville, Muhlenberg County police cheif:

Greenville Police Chief Darren Harvey also gave his take, saying, “I think there needs to be more regulations on gun ownership, but the law needs to focus more on penalties for criminal violations rather than banning guns altogether. Regardless of laws, criminals are going to continue to break them. More laws effect law abiding citizens, not criminals who have no regard for the law anyway. I support the second amendment. More laws won’t fix the problem, I don’t think. There would be a huge conflict of interest if I had to start taking guns from citizens or arresting any and everyone who owned a gun. Maybe there could be more regulatory permits granted or standards of qualifications for gun owners, but I took an oath to uphold the constitution, as did every other law officer. The government would have a lot to iron out in the conflicts of interest if there were a mass ban on guns. I guess I would do it. I guess I would do what I had to if it came down to that, but I hope it doesn’t come down to that.”
    Sad.

Just what I was looking for... PVA... easy enough. Thanks for doing what you do!
