"The open carrying of firearms creates a Wild West atmosphere that is unsettling to many law-abiding people. They don't know if the person packing the pistol is stable or not, whether the gun has its safety on or not or whether it is secured properly from someone grabbing it."

I am just guessing, but is this what was said when the gave us the ability to conceal?

"whether the gun has its safety on or not or whether it is secured properly" are just about the last things the average member of the public is thinking about.

Its the antis that entice everyone to carry ... and even in the wild wild west, shootings were not very common. I think this guy watched one to many John Wayne movies and his brain fried.

Every time someone speaks about Texas as though it's the unparalleled epitome of gun freedom, I chortle.

Practically California, far as I'm concerned. :p
