Opportunity for Cheap Guns in Lansing Michigan, 9 February

On Saturday, the 9th of February, there will be a gun turn in at the Tabernacle of David Church at 2645 W. Holmes Rd. The City of Lansing will be offering grocery gift cards for guns, at fairly low prices: $50 for long guns, $100 for handguns, and $150 for "military style" "assault weapons".

Market forces and pro-freedom activists must be working, because the organizers say that they will not pay for home made guns. As crude zip guns and other home made guns are some of the most dangerous guns out on the street, it is easy to see that there is no logic in this program.

This is a great opportunity to show up and offer a better deal in cash for the nicer firearms that are brought in. Firearms enthusiasts have been doing this around the nation with considerable success. Here are links to stories where it has happened:

These turn in events are usually called "buy backs", a subtle fraud, as the firearms were never owned by the government in the first place.

These events are political theater designed to delegitimize armed citizens and the ownership of guns. In a practical sense they defraud ignorant gun owners, who are often poor widows, waste police resources, destroy valuable property, and increase the demand for new guns by decreasing the supply of used guns.

The last gun "buyback" i attended in Detroit was very successful. Between my friend and i we acquired 4 or 5 firearms, the most expensive was $60.

From google earth, it looks somewhat unfriendly when it comes to parking and whatnot. The church appears to be a long way off the street. I am sure the church will ask anyone buying guns to please leave their property.

We will most likely have to stand on the sidewalk with "Cash for Guns" signs.

Anyone live near there want to go do some recon?

No need for recon, this was the place where the last Lansing gun "buyback" occurred.

We successfully rescued many good guns. Yes, you will stand on the sidewalk area with your signs and tell people you're legally buying their guns for cash. Waving cash seemed to help with the message.

We directed the interested ones to pull into Viking Rd, which is across the street.

Initially, an LPD officer attempted to say what we were doing was illegal. We told him we knew it was legal, and he walked back to the church and I never saw him again. :)

Please take some pictures if you go to the turn in.

Please take some pictures. If you send me a report (pictures would be wonderful), I will write up an article and post it. Citizen reporters are so much better than the MSM. It is much easier to post pictures that are less than a megabyte.

If you have any pictures from the last event, I would love to write up an article about it.

Ill probably go, this date works out perfectly since i get payed the day before =)

only $50 for long guns? thats half what they payed previously, must've realized that 90% of the guns that were brought in were worth less than $100, and that most(i sadly saw a good sks go to them) of the decent ones went to us.

Send me a report, and I will write up an article, as I mentioned before. Become part of the new media. It beats the Old Media flat.
