What a load of bovine excrement! 7+ hours they were under attack and there was no time to respond?!

This administration has more excuses than a feral dog has fleas. As long as the drones have free health care, and free phones they could care less.

Not enough time to respond? There was no time to predict how long they would hold out in the assault...had this administration cut the **** and sent assets in the hope of getting there in time, it's possible they could have. Saying there wasn't enough time is a cop out for not wanting to get involved. Good people died that day for no reason, and this administration should be ashamed of itself.

    Benghazi White House Cover-Up Revealed?

***Benghazi White House Cover-Up Revealed?- Part 1 of 5***

    Does "It" really matter now?
Was there really a Cover - up ?
Do you now or did you ever care ?

I for one honestly believe that if there had been a ***Different*** administration in Office during the time of the 2012 Benghazi attack, the response from MSM and Political Pundits would have required a much more expedient investigation, thus resulting in the ouster of "Someone" (namely at least the Secretary(s) of State &/0R Defense) plus a proper Public dressing down of The Chief Executive Officer (aka, POTUS) and possibly a Formal Senate/Congressional Vote of Lack of Trust in said Administration (if there is such a thing?)

After all, Pres. Nixon was a criminal and Nobody DIED because of His lack of Good Moral Judgement/Character !

The issue is wider than the attacks and the outcome. This issue is the coverup.

As I recall commanders were asking to send in aircraft and support personel and told to stand down. The 2 men that did go in ignored that order.

    No time my ass.

The only thing these people will accept is Obama and Hillary going on live TV and confessing that the two of them planned and organized the attack months in advance and paid the Libyans to carry it out.

After all, it was necessary in order for Obama to have the excuse to declare martial law, confiscate everybody's guns, dissolve Congress, enact Sharia law, and declare himself Supreme Ruler of the new Islamic Republic of America. /s

Oh, and give everybody an opportunity to get adequate, affordable health ins.

Nonsense. They just need to acknowledge that through incompetency they screwed the pooch and let Americans die without even trying to send support. "There wasn't time to send help!" How did they know?

Oh, and give everybody an opportunity to get adequate, affordable health ins.
Irrelevant since they failed to do that as well.

"What difference does it make?" That's all we needed to hear. Body count doesn't mean anything to her, even if Ambassador Stephens was allegedly her friend.

Security with Stevens were fully debriefed and their testimony is available.
They basically revealed Stevens died within the first part of the attacks from smoke inhalation and nothing could be done at all to change that. Stevens entered the country without even advising Washington he was going (because he had been an operator for a long time, experience does that). An additional security team from Tripoli was nearly immediately chartered to Benghazi and they were *the fastest available response*
Faster than any other military force available. (And using a military force is not so straight forward, it's a Sovereign country, you can't just roll the Abrams Tanks in and the F-16s). The appropriate response was to get a State Department Security Team there as quickly as possible. That's exactly what was done.
The timeline is very straight forward. Stevens died before that Security team even hit the ground and that team left within about an hour of the initial attack.
The real failure was that State Department Policy (which extends back to previous administrations) has not been adequately improved post 9/11 and Iraq. Which requires more money, and the GOP house has repeatedly denied the state department funds to improve the overall safety of State Department Officials on Mission overseas.

Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates under both Presidents George W. Bush and Obama also recently admitted that, had he been in charge at the time, the response would have been the same, saying, “Frankly, had I been in the job at the time I think my decisions would have been just as theirs were. We don’t have a ready force standing by in the Middle East.

"Despite all the turmoil that’s going on, with planes on strip alert, troops ready to deploy at a moment’s notice. And so getting somebody there in a timely way – would have been very difficult, if not impossible … The one thing that our forces are noted for is planning and preparation before we send people in harm’s way. And there just wasn’t time to do that.”

So now Panetta and Robert Gates are part of the conspiracy?

    "What difference does it make?"
    Typical "breitbarting".
Why don't any of the haters use the whole quote? Context makes all the difference.

“With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again Senator.”

Normally, I would agree. Mistakes occur. Not that a person responsible should not be hung out to dry and rightfully so....

Would I have sent in 20 guys to save 4 when they are surrounded by 200? Think Somalia. I think that's what those folks were thinking. I would have sent over one of those new fangled F35's ....

Now afterwards is the major issue. Few people are going do more than say "oh, 4 soldiers dead, that's a shame" if 4 guys were ambushed in Iraq, right?

In this instance, the administration orchestrated, and I think its crystal clear now that they did, a misstatement of the known facts to the American people; a willful and wanton deception to the American people. Nixon did not get screwed because of the Watergate break-in but of the cover-up than happened (or tried to occur) afterwards.

And for what purpose? Simply to cover their butts about the ultra lax security at the facility.

The soldiers, when they arrived at the facility, may have said "we're screwed", who knows. The CIA facility was, what, less than a mile away, but they could not get access to the area of the doomed compound and they barely escaped.

I've been assigned to locations where I knew if SHTF, I was likely screwed...but, you're a soldier...you do your job and follow orders and hope for the best. Sometimes the best ain't good enough...and that's the way it goes. Its the risk you assume when you put on a uniform. No need crying about the risk. Your in a socialist society ~ people with common sense and brains don't float to the top in a socialist system.

let's see we tried to rescue the hostages in Iran and lost eight service member's lives and that was a well (?) planned activity.

numerous times we have attempted to accomplish covert military actions and some have succeeded ~ which are well publicized and i am sure a great many have failed with loss of life which have not been shared with the public and shall be buried in the great filing cabinet under secret.

and let's not discuss the bin laden's capture where we lost a copter and only by the grace it succeeded.

realistically, a rescue was unattainable in the emergency environment the embassy found itself.

I smell a troll. Like that Sesame Street thing, one thing isn't like the others. Anybody get the impression that Beebobby doesn't open carry, let alone likely even own a gun nor even see one on a movie screen without ******* their pants?

Lest we forget, there were a couple military careers ended because the commanders made statements how they were trying to send in assets and were denied permission and even threatened if they did so.

That isn't "not enough time" thats hanging someone out to dry.

They could have had at the very least aircraft in the sky over target within hours (nearest airbase, Italy perhaps - an hour & change at supersonic speeds). You can bet a couple Hellfire missiles dropped to home in on the sound of "Alahu Akbar" would have broken that attack up in a hurry. Barring that capability, just aim for the gunfire outside the compound.

No, it wasn't that help wasn't available, or that people weren't willing to go. It was that our inept leaders weren't willing to send them, as it seems very likely from the events that there was a deal afoot to stage an attack, capture an ambassador that Obama could then be the hero and obtain his release (in part for his lending of our Air Force to Al Queda to overthrow Qhadaffi). The October Surprise.
