Hi everyone,

I am new to carrying a hand gun in Georgia and just wanted to get somethings clarified. I am in the U.S. Army Reserves and I know in Georgia that if you are in the military and have your military ID that you do not have to have your GWL. I already have my GWL so that is a non issue but from what I understand there are less restrictions on where you can carry in the state. I was hoping that y'all could clarify where exactly I can carry that normal GWL holders can't. Also if anyone knows of any other states where the military rule applies I would love to know of them as well. If anyone has any tips for Georgia carrying or just carrying in general I would also appreciate it.

A GWL* is a Georgia Weapons License as the license to carry includes more than firearms.

*Officially it's a Georgia Weapons Carry License (GWCL), but as the old license was a GFL most people use GWL for the new one.
