An off-duty Alexandria sheriff's deputy shot and killed a suspected burglar late Tuesday night.

Just before 11 p.m., officers found the victim on the ground when they responded to a call for a shooting in the 8400 block of Rose Marie Drive in Prince George's County. The victim died at the scene.

The homeowner, a deputy sheriff in Alexandria, told police he arrived home to find his front door damaged. Once inside, he was confronted by the suspect.....
