CPL Classes in Raleigh - Suggestions?

Hello all,

Before moving to Raleigh for work I took a CPL in my home state of MI, but I was transferred before I could apply for my permit.
Now that I'm living here, and even though I OC, I would like to have my CPL for reciprocity purposes when traveling to neighboring states.
Does any have a suggestion as to the "best" place to take the course? Best being a combination of least expensive, best instructor (even if I'm proficient with firearms), flexible class times, etc.
Thanks in advance for your input.

In NC it is a CHP (Concealed HANDGUN Permit) so it is only applicable to handguns. I took mine at Eagle 1 in Raleigh. The instructors name is Keith King, he is a Johnston Co Sheriff. I highly recommend his class, he was very good. I believe the price was 90.00 which is pretty normal for the Raleigh area.

MilSpec,

Thanks for the reply.
I wasn't sure if the nomenclature was the same in NC as it was back home. In MI in Concealed Pistol License.
I will contact the individual you took your class through to obtain more information.

Check with the Sheriff's office to see if they will accept your class from MI. If not you can check with local fire dept, or police dept to see if they have a instructor, or classes. Sometimes the VFW holds classes also, just start making phone calls, somebody will point you in the right direction. Keep in mind that instructors can vary, and have their own bias. Get through the class, and then check the laws for yourself. I have stories of instructors telling students OC is illegal, that they will be arrested for GATTOP. Another instructor told students that banks were federal property and no carry was allowed which is not true. This site is a wealth of information, but when it comes to your backside you should only trust a lawyer. And no I am not a lawyer.

Welcome to NC. :)
