An afternoon of concealed and open carry

image1.jpgMy wife and I spent the afternoon shopping and one of our stops was Pro Bass. We went there because I was interested in getting a new vest that would better conceal my weapon when I wanted to carry concealed. Let me say that I do carry open and concealed as I feel like it. Today was concealed. However, for the record, when I have carried open, I have never had an adverse comment made to me face to face. Actually, all the comments I have received have been positive. Usually, it is what make and caliber of weapon is that? Good show! Etc. Never, a why are you carrying a gun? Of course my purpose in carrying a weapon at all is !. protection of myself and my wife and 2. And my right to do so. I have never nor do I expect to carry just to show off or express a position of power unless I feel it necessary to protect myself or someone else from bodily harm. Any way, I was surprised to find little ammo available at Pro Bass. And in finding a suitable vest, I had to take my old one off to try a few of those on that had possibilities. Yes, when I did take the old one off, there was my .45 Kimber Ultra Laser, in full view of everyone who was around me. Not one comment made and I made my purchase without any problems. After leaving Pro Bass, we journeyed to Arby's for a late lunch. Again no comments made and no eyes or whispers made. One last stop at Walgreens to pick up my insulin. Same as before. No comments made. It does make you feel good to live in an area that respects your rights. I give great credit to our dedicated legislators and governor as well as the Arizona Citizens Defense League for the environment surrounding our concealed carry and open carry laws here in Arizona. A great place to live, even though I am still a Texican through and through. By the way, I am 77 years old and my wife is 87. Some may think I'm just a bit off but that's their privilege. And that's my story for today.

Glad you had a good day here in Arridzona.

Your experience sounds about typical, most people won't notice that you're armed and those who do, won't care.

You might get a question or two about what brand/model/caliber you're carrying, but that's about all.

At least, that's been my experience!

Thank you AZCLD!

Sounds like my days. Most of the time I get comments saying Nice belt accessory. Love it. Happy carry days.
