    California Ban on Lead Ammo

    http://news.yahoo.com/bill-ban-lead-...080553784.html

I found this on the Drudge Report and read through it. It looks like a ban on all lead ammo. Any ban at all is disgusting, but all. It's ridiculous.

I am sure there are some good decent folks that live in Kommiefornia. However they seem to be vastly out numbered by elitest or other asshats. I live northeast of phoenix in a very nice well to do community. We see many visitors and snowbirds/transplants from "Cali" and from my observation most of them are batcrap crazy at best. It is no surprise they pass crazy laws, as gump would say: "stupid is, as stupid does".

There is a ton of information about refuting the science supporting these lead ammo bans here: http://www.huntfortruth.org/site/. Everyone, whether a hunter or not, should be aware of this backdoor attack on firearms via ammunition. It is not about hunting only.

And MrFreeinAZ, don't think you in free America are safe from the "environmentalist" radicals. Our firm has already had to represent the NRA in one fight there where they were trying to ban lead ammo for hunting in the AZ Strip. Fortunately, we prevailed in the case (you can read about it here: http://www.huntfortruth.org/site/2011/09/30/case-1/). But that fight is not over. We, on behalf of the NRA, along with the Safari Club International, are currently seeking to get involved in another similar case in AZ to defend hunters' rights against the same radical group, which apparently will not accept defeat (you can read about that case here: http://www.huntfortruth.org/site/201...orest-service/).

Our prison system ahs been likened to a revolving door.

Similarly those that would oppose our RKBA introduce the merry-go-round stragey into our courtrooms - here comes another pony, another and another.........haven't I seen that one before.

Our grabbing the brass ring once isn't enough anymore.

Amen, Grapeshot. At least in this particular case the antis are responding to a loss, rather than being encouraged by a win. Let's all hope we get a similar result in the new case. Of course, California is pretty much beyond that point. The only way to prevail against this current proposed statewide lead ammo ban is for everyone to get informed and get involved.

Lead ammo bans are based on junk science, much like man made global warming.

It amazes me how some people will embrace and push junk science to further their cause and refute real science when it is against them.

The absurdity of this "lead ammo ban" completely confounds me.

Can someone please ask the lawmakers who passed this idiocy..........where lead comes from?

If it's bad for the environment........why aren't they digging up the lead mines to remove that harmful lead from the environment?

    ...Oh, wait.

    If lead ammo is bad........

When does the law banning lead wheel weights, lead fishing lures, and solder take effect?

Many states have banned lead wheel weights and either have or are considering banning lead fishing gear. Google is your friend.

"A couple of years ago the U.S. EPA said it planned to write new rules on lead wheel weights, and the agency says a decision on that could come next year."

Lead toy soldiers - dead and gone from the production market:
The Child Safety Act of 1966 took a toll on the toy industry. Among other regulations, it prohibited the use of potentially dangerous materials like lead from being included in toys.
    http://www.toymakerofwilliamsburg.co...-toy-soldiers/

IMHO - many of these laws are blamed as a result the false science that lead migrates or leaches in the soil. Still the carte blanch application that "lead free" is better is hardly truth. "Lead" is a negative buzz word, a frequent scare tactic.

Can you image a lead glaze being used on a juice pitcher (as in highly acidic orange or tomato juice) or cooking utensil? Such could and did cause lead poisoning.

They'll pass the bill then realize (insert face palm) that cops and the military are using a giga-ton of lead ammo, and have to go back and insert exceptions. They will have banned the 0.1% of all lead ammo use by 'civilians'.

I can say it, but it would not matter. L.A. is on one side, and S.F. and Sac. are on the other side. It may get S.F., but you still have Sac. Lose either way.

Lead wheel weights are no longer allowed in California. The only vehicles that have the lead weights are older vehicles like mine. I'm sure if they had not considered fishing lures and solder, now that you mentioned it, they will.

In 5 to 10 years hunting, and other shooting sports, will be de facto illegal in California. Prima Facie hunting with firearms will seem to be legal; however, the regulations will be too burdensome for hunters to comply.

CDFG will see huge reductions in revenue and it will be forced to go the legislature for its funding. The legislature will force more burdens as a quid pro quo for funding. More burdens on CDFG will equate to more burdens on hunters, which will further decrease hunting license and tag sales (CDFG is mostly funded by sportsmen).

The strategy to ruin hunting is operational right now. CDFG is now CDFW. The transformation of California Fish and Game has started with removal of "Game" and the substitution of "Wildlife" in its name.

The lead ammo ban is the implimentation of one more tactic.

Hunters are a huge gun owning demographic.

Liberalism sucks. Collectivism sucks. Tribal politics sucks. Democratic ideology is a religion and it is dangerous to free people who believe in individual civil liberties.

if what mark.. says comes true ... you'll have a lot of deer smacking into cars and killing children.

    Not the children!

Then they'll have to pass a law making deer crossing streets a crime....then spend $$ to hire more cops to enforce the new law.

What about Black Powder target shooters ?
That is still legal as far as I know.
    Otherwise it would be discrimination
