Email who? Tuesday was the 28th day of this years 30 day session. They all went home. They'll be back on March 25 and 26 (day 29 and 30)to say good-bye. Some, secret, back room business will get done between now and sine die, but don't count on anything that we want done, getting done. It's not impossible, just highly unlikely. If you want to send emails, send them for the 2014 session.
I'd say that most of them are celebrating because they didn't have to vote on this bill. Very tough decision for a Democrat, vote for a Republican sponsored gun bill and let them take credit for it or vote against it and make the people back home mad. Let's just do nothing and go home. If anybody asks we say, "we didn't have enough time".
Look at SB 50, the industrial hemp bill. Passed the Senate 31-6, got a favorable recommendation from the House committee, had 1st and 2nd reading, but never called for a floor vote. Stumbo didn't want it so he didn't give it a vote. That's politics and that's how its done. The speaker of the House or the President of the Senate can stop any bill that they don't like, even if every other member wants it. I like Greg Stumbo and agree with him most of the time, but I've never heard as many distortions and misleading statements as he put out on Mandy Connell's radio show last week about this bill. What can you do about it? Nothing. Greg Stumbo doesn't care what I think of him, I can't vote for or against him. This is how politics works. It is dirty business. Next year's session will be 60 days long. Maybe, we can get something done then and we'll need Greg Stumbo on our side to get anything done, so don't speak too badly or too loudly about him.
