    .38 super caliber

I was just wandering how popular the .38 super was either with oc or cc?
I don't hear any news about it.

It is a somewhat popular caliber in a 1911 platform. I was recently thinking about getting a Rock Island in that caliber. The responses I got was that while ammo is available, it is a round that where reloading will provide a better performance round. There were several that said it was their EDC.

    Well,,,

    If you like 38super,
Carry 9x23 winchester, it is 38super+P+,
same power and speed as 357 sig, the same power and speed as 357 mag!

While I do think that the .38 Super, as well as the 9x23 Win and .357 Sig,are excellent cartridges, and I would like to add a 1911 in .38 Super as well as 9x23 to my collection, it is misleading to think that any of them are completely equal to the .357 Magnum. While the 9x23 and .357 Sig can push a 125gr pill to 1400fps range, similar to the .357 Magnum in a handgun, none of the others can effectively handle heavier bullets in the 180-200gr range. A .357 magnum can still achieve almost 1400fps with a 180gr LFN from a 6" barrel.

I got a 10mm, a RIA, last November. $609.00 shipped. Have really enjoyed shooting it. Check them out.

Go with the 9X23 instead of the 38 super, it is a 9mm on steroids. You will find yourself reloading either caliber, so the 9X23 can be loaded lower to the 38 Super specs.

I love 10mm. The caliber is awesome if you buy the correct factory loads/handload other wise it's just 40S&W.

But you want to compare 10mm to 357mag from a semi auto :

    Op,
I'd personally look to Buffalo Bore, Double Tap or Reed's for PD ammo in 38super, 9x23 or 10mm.
There are several other calibers that are awesome that are less common:
    9x25 Dillion
    40 Super
    400 Corbon
    45 Super
    460 Rowland

If you think like a Statist, act like one, or back some, you've given up on freedom and have gone over to the dark side.
The easiest ex. but probably the most difficult to grasp for gun owners is that fool permission slip so many of you have, especially if you show it off with pride. You should recognize it as an embarrassment, an infringement, a travesty and an affront to a free person.
