    LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hundreds of law enforcement officers on Friday raided Southern California auto parts shops and other businesses suspected of illegally selling nitrous oxide for use as a recreational drug, in what federal authorities said was the nation's largest such raid ever.

    It will be the same in NY with them going after grandma who has a WW I pistol that can hold 8 rds....

    N2O is available in your grocery store as aerosol propellant in, for example, whipped cream. It is produced by gently heating ammonium nitrate fertilizer and cleaning the product of contaminants - nitric oxides and precipitants. The Wikipedia suggests how.
