Tacoma seems to be rather volatile lately ... more so than usual.

First, I live in Browns Point. The 5800 block of 13th Ct NE is NOT in Browns Point. It is in NE Tacoma/Fife Heights.

    Another update

Detective Ed Troyer tells KIRO Radio's Ron & Don Show the gunman was moving through the neighborhood in the 5800 block of 13th St. Ct. NE around 4:00 p.m.

He warns people to stay clear of the area, including all media.

"His firepower is strong enough to reach the helicopters."

Why is it so many old white guys are going around shooting up their families, friends, people, and other stuff up? Or... is it they are the only ones getting reported on the news? And why is it my "enter" key is not dropping me down for a new paragraph?

Now that was a stupid comment. Obviously this person has broken the law. Shooting at neighbors houses is NOT equivalent to exercising your rights. Not even close to the other thread about an umbrella.

Well, we know he's heavily armed.

If he were lightly armed or unarmed, they'd already have sent SWAT in to storm the place.

    He's surrendered himself....

TACOMA, Wash. -- Authorities spent much of Tuesday evening trying to coax an armed and "unstable" Tacoma man from his house after he was spotted firing guns on the streets of his Fife Heights neighborhood.

Finally, after a more than four-hour standoff, 67-year-old Mike McBee surrendered and was taken into custody.

Prosecutors charged McBee on Wednesday with attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and one count each of first-degree burglary, malicious mischief and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Follow up... the man in the NE Tacoma shooting was a felon and had a fight with a neighbor recently....

May I say: Kudos are due the TPD...the man is in custody, not shot on the spot.
