Richmond police are stepping up patrols at Stony Point Fashion Park after two armed robberies in three days — the first robberies to be reported at the upscale, outdoor mall since it opened nearly a decade ago.

Richmond police said the two recent robberies at Stony Point are the first robberies reported at the mall since it opened in September 2003.

“We want the community to feel safe to come out to the mall,” Richmond police Capt. Yvonne Crowder said.

Steve Bonniville, general manager of Stony Point Fashion Park, said the recent robberies have raised some concern.

“We have stepped up our security efforts,” he said. “We’ve taken this very seriously.”

I just read that same article. I guess they need to make the GFZ signs bigger so that the criminals can see it. :banghead:

I don't go to Stoney Point often, but when I have I have always OCd. Never had a problem.

i hope if they are OC friendly , that they don't have the knee jerk reaction, and punish the law abiding citizens
