No, I haven't heard about it but she shouldn't have let them in and he should have thrown them out.
One of these days that might sink in.

"We're from the government and we're here to help."

Peter is right. There is no excuse. Never let them in without a warrant. Never volunteer anything to them. Never engage in conversation.

Just one more example that the federal government is the most racist entity in the nation. Affirmative action is a bastard child, long due for extinction. It is racist and serves no purpose whatsoever other than furthering the racist policies of the left and of racist minority groups.

and from the article TFred linked to ...

Mr. Gasior, who is, after all, one of the world’s experts on just this kind of firearm, argued that it was rare, but certainly not “a one-of-a-kind rifle.” It was, he said, a limited-production model that was never in a museum, but was issued to Poles and surrendered to the Germans along with similar rifles during the German invasion of Poland in 1939 and subsequently, captured by a GI and brought home as a souvenir. The agent replied that as far as the U.S. government is concerned, anything brought over the border at any time was within Department of Homeland Security jurisdiction and could be seized.

peter, you need to watch out. Isn't that plastic pistol of yours made in Austria?

shhh .. don't tell them about the ones I have that were made in Croatia

More sad news will be coming his way. SCOTUS has several rulings (trying to call them up - will edit when I find the citations) about property of invaded/conquered countries being the property of that country, regardless of how/when/under what circumstances the property entered the US or how it came into the possession of the current possessor (can't call them owners as the foreign country is declared the owner).

This http://www.icrc.org/customary-ihl/eng/docs/v1_rul_rule49 is probably what Mr. Gasior is counting on as authorization to have/keep the rifle.

Even worse, SCOTUS has returned salvaged treasure to the country/government now occupying the territory/using a similar name as the government the treasure belonged to before it was lost at sea.

Sure is and if they really want it, I'll be happy to give it to them, but I never hand a loaded gun to anyone so I have to empty it first.:uhoh:

This is why nobody

but me knows how many, where they are or how much ammo I own. And my wife knows NEVER to invite the police inside the house.

Still waiting for an answer from my senators and congressman about this question:

How is it that a fully automatic M4 in the hands of the DHS is a “Personal Defense Weapon”, but a semi-automatic AR-15 in the hands of a legally armed citizen (me) is an assault weapon?

I don't trust the federal government especially the DHS thugs!

And I guess then that based on SCOTUS logic we should assume that anything in the possession here (in what is now called the U.S. by those who conquered it from England) prior to 9/3/1783 belongs to England (including antique weapons...all land a part of the colonies, cities in the colonies, and so on). :monkey

As an additional note from the OP's link:

Company officials pointed out to commission investigators threatening to charge the company with discrimination that they couldn’t hire felons even if they wanted to, because federal law prohibits federal firearms licensees from hiring felons. The investigator’s response was, according to a company official I talked to: “That’s your problem, not ours.”

Damned if you don't and damned if you do. There are no rules except the ones they manufacture - isn't that against the rules :cuss:

The world turned upside down.

Wouldn't this be unconstitutional under the "ex post facto" clause under Article I, Section 9?

I want to see the search warrant and the affidavit before any such nonsense goes down. I especially want to see the affidavit to see what was used as probable cause before a magistrate.

actually you better go back further and turn over all your possessions in VA to the members of the mattaponi and chickahominy tribes as England took all the land from them.

I guess in my case it would be the Meherrin Indians.

Except that based on what I read, they weren't recognized as either a country or a government, so it wouldn't apply, and my point was that it would only apply to things from back then. So land which existed then, yes, possessions that didn't exist then, no.

I think GL meant it tongue in cheek Dan, but the native Virginians and how they were treated is fascinating reading. A little upsetting too.

Aww c'mon palerider...,

you KNOW you don't need no steenking affidavit to get a search warrant, especially if you work in Murray County, Tennessee. Check out www.injusticeeverywhere and look at Re Cap for 03/28/13. See where a police captain has gotten his nuts in a jam for planting evidence, or something like that, and in the course of that investigation they're finding out that Magistrate Judge Bryant Cochran has been illegally pre-signing warrants for officers to use. Lots to see on injusticeeverywhere, if you really want to read something. Just sayin'. :)

In CT they got a bill out of committee to fund an account for just these purposes ... and every pro-gun group got in line to support it ..

Good job guys, have no imagination on how the $$ really will be spent?
