This is my first post, I am also from seymour and today marks the end of week 8 for me. I just spoke to the officer who takes the prints (whom is also a neighbor) and they are currently processing the week before me so he said another few days. Should I not have it by the end of next week I will then appeal.

I also asked him if about seymour not accepting more applications and that is absolutely not true.

Karl

You likely should have appealed many weeks ago. Why wait?

File a motion to withdraw and complain in it if you wish...

Enjoy your permit ! Make a copy of it .... keep that in a safe place

On that note, are you aware of any laws that would prohibit me from carrying a colored copy of my permit and not the original? Besides the ticket for not carrying a pemit?

I am curious as I don't wanna go through the hassle of driving to Middletown to get my permit back from the Commissioner when some very misinformed officer attempts to take it from me for open carrying.

Yes.... I know they would be violating my rights to take it.

Carry both and see if they'll take the copy (when asked) ...

Considering it's a license/permit, I don't believe a copy would be acceptable because a copy could easily be "forged", though if the numbers are correct I'm sure the officer would check the database for its validity anyhow. I suppose you could attempt what david said, but definitely make sure you have your actual original permit on you as well because the copy will probably backfire

Or one could just carry their permit and stop inventing ways to cause legal trouble for themselves needlessly.

If someone is so worried that a cop will steal their permit while they are OCing, it is probably advisable that they just conceal instead.

Some might worry about losing the permit ... then between the time of requesting a duplicate and getting it, they would have something.
