I have seen it mentioned several times on this forum (and in the map section) that the rule for Kansas unlicensed open carry is "plain view". However, I am unable to find that in the statutes. Can someone point to the statute? Thanks

LEVIR. the law can only tell you what is illegal. if something is not said in law it is usually legal. though i have not done a study on KS, this is probably the case.

found this on hand gun laws.com. look up the KS section. they admit they can't find a law either. but they make suggestions

So there is no state law regarding carrying a firearm openly in a vehicle. Which means, if there are no county or city ordinances, I can just leave it in plain view.

That Highway Patrol FAQ hasn't been there for years, it's really strange that they keep the link there.
