I have seen it mentioned several times on this forum (and in the map section) that the rule for Kansas unlicensed open carry is "plain view". However, I am unable to find that in the statutes. Can someone point to the statute? Thanks

We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. LEVIR. the law can only tell you what is illegal. if something is not said in law it is usually legal. though i have not done a study on KS, this is probably the case.
found this on hand gun laws.com. look up the KS section. they admit they can't find a law either. but they make suggestions

So there is no state law regarding carrying a firearm openly in a vehicle. Which means, if there are no county or city ordinances, I can just leave it in plain view.
That Highway Patrol FAQ hasn't been there for years, it's really strange that they keep the link there.
