    Lenient Issue Counties Near SF?

    Hi,

Visitor from the CO board. What is the latest on counties within a couple of hours of San Francisco who are lenient (more "shall issue" than "may issue")? I see different opinions, and they're all outdated.

The above link is the most recent analysis of carry license issuance. The report is from 2011. The chart following is based on the CGF numbers.

The map below was developed by Cal CCW and revised in 2010- Since it is more than two years old, it may not be accurate.

As disappointing as it may sound, there are NO shall issue counties in California. All issuance is predicated upon the discretion of the Sheriff or Police Chief of the issuing agency.
