What's the matter with your county?

They still think the law is "May Issue". I think there was bill during the last session which would have allowed obtaining a CPL in any county, but it did not pass. The License to purchase, carry, possess, or transport a pistol, however, can now be issued by any police agency in Michigan. (PA 377 of 20120

Ok, direct from MSP web page. The board shall not issue a licence if they determine that issuing the licence (would) be detrimental to the safety of the applicant or any other indiviual.
The determination shall be based on clear and convincing evidence of- Civil infractions.
Crimes.
PPO's.
or Injunctions.
Police reports.
or other evidence, or the applicants statements that bear directly on the applicants ability to carry a concealed pistol.

I did finally get a copy o what they looked at. It's not glamorus (but it's a record after all) There is nothing on the list of disqualifications though. I think I'll have to convince them I'm safe, instead of sewing them for breaking a law.

I called Ottawa county today, to see if I could get a meeting with the gun board member there, to disscuss my situation. A flat out no. I'm so frustrated. I can't be the only one in this bind. I'm sorry to belly ache so much about it, but I feel alone in this fight, I hope I can vent here.

Yes they denied me because of past (incidents) Just responding to a call. If someone calls the police and says you assaulted them, or was stalking them or what ever, that goes in your file, weather it's true or not. If someone doesn't like you they can really mess your life up. Even traffic accidents are in there.

I didn't violate any of the conditions, I have proof of that. But they can deny just because of incidents. It's a catch all.
