    Training in Virginia

The purpose of this sticky is to identify and to advertise shooting training classes in Virginia. In order to keep the thread clean, I envision a list of postings identifying or recommending companies or instructors, with general subject matter and location by city in the subject line, and class-related information, which can be in the form of a reference to a website, in the text. That way, one can scan the titles to learn what classes are being offered and in what areas, then open that post to learn the details.

I ask that companies or instructors who self-advertise do NOT post each new class, but only refer to the website where this information may be found. If you are recommending a class, please include the above information and include a brief AAR to identify why you make this recommendation.

What I would like this thread to grow into is a complete list of all shooting instruction in Virginia (if it slops a little over into a neighboring state, that is fine too; the object is to locate shooting instruction).

Take a face to face class. Nothing beats hands on experience (even if you already have it) and you get to meet other gun friendly people.

    Free basic handgun course..

    Free basic handgun course..
Greene County Sheriff’s Office offers a free handgun safety course every other month as long as there is a continued interest.

The classes are offered to those 13 and older, and teaches safe handling, usage, shooting fundamentals, proper selection, laws and the concealed permit process.

Students receive a certified certificate of completion, which may be used to apply for the Virginia concealed handgun permit through the Circuit Court. Applicants for a concealed handgun permit must be at least 21 years old, undergo a background check and be approved by the Commonwealth’s Attorney and Circuit Judge.

For more information contact Steve Keene at (434) 566-8774.

The above Basic handgun course is excellent for those needing a beginner course or a fresher on laws, it also serves to satisfy the states requirement to obtain a CHP.

This is a non live fire class.

And you don't have to be a Greene county resident to attend.

I have no dog in this fight.

If you think like a Statist, act like one, or back some, you've given up on freedom and have gone over to the dark side.
The easiest ex. but probably the most difficult to grasp for gun owners is that fool permission slip so many of you have, especially if you show it off with pride. You should recognize it as an embarrassment, an infringement, a travesty and an affront to a free person.
