BBQ at the DeathStar!!

With the summer coming around in fill force already, the wife and I have decided to throw a BBQ at the DeathStar...aka "our house"...

Just so everyone knows, this is a BBQ hosted on a Federal Installation so OC and CCW is STRICTLY PROHIBITED! You can, though, bring your handguns into the house if you are worried about the security of your handguns while you're here. They MUST be unloaded and cased! No exceptions. I have a completely different set of "laws" that I have to follow, so this specific rule must be enforced.

We respectfully ask that if you plan on coming, that you bring a dish to pass or meat(s) to throw on the grille. Drinks will provided here...heck, if you drink alcohol, it's a BYOB situation. Just remember to have a plan if you're drinking.

We have misters on the back patio, and plenty of parking space...

Who: ...anyone OC/CC related...
What: Food
Where: Nellis AFB (we will have to get you sponsored onto the base)
When: TBD
Why: It is hot outside and I am sure we all like to eat...duh!

Rather than remove the long guns from the truck, I'll probably just ride my motorcycle. So I can put an unloaded and cased handgun in my backpack, right? Can the ammo be in the same case? Does the case need to be locked?

3.) Personal preference... We don't lock our cases and the odds of you being inspected are slim. If the working dogs are at the gate then it's 50/50 whether they inspect or not.

When we escort you on, they won't inspect you..

Am I correct in assuming that their definition of "not loaded" means no loaded magazine in the weapon?

I hate to be the party pooper but i'm pretty certain that you can only have firearms on base (cased) if you are a resident of base housing, not juat any old guest

Riding a motorcycle on a military installation, you're required to wear an approved safety vest. Dunno about NAFB, but some base commanders don't like motorcycles and require visitors to also show their registration and insurance, so you don't want to have anything that you don't want the rentacops to see in whatever compartment you keep the papers in.

I don't think there would be any problems with being unarmed on base. Driving TO base however....lol.

Long sleeves and over ankle boots as well as a D.O.T. Approved helmet, Whatever that is.
