Get your Pistol Permit appeals in!

BFPE to schedule permit appeal hearing for those past 8 week deadline

Connecticut, June, 2013:

The BFPE is planning to pack a hearing in late June with appeals for pistol permits that are past the 8 week deadline (CGS 29-28). This means if you have a pistol permit application in that is past 8 weeks since the date you submitted the complete application, you should appeal right now. Don’t wait. The wait time otherwise can be out past September.

To appeal, you need to fill out a form letter and a questionnaire, both of which can be found on the BFPE’s site: http://www.ct.gov/bfpe/cwp/view.asp?a=1252&Q=254192&bfpeNav=| (http://www.ct.gov/bfpe/cwp/view.asp?a=1252&Q=254192&bfpeNav=|)

Get your appeals in now and save yourself and the BFPE some time!

I'm sure that the linked help formatted letter will be appreciated by some.

Odd, I thought that the board does it first in first out...

Really, they should adopt regs to deal with these on a take-papers basis ... and have a 30 day deadline to a decision...

I've encountered several people asking whether the Appeals Letter and Questionnaire (required documents for filing an appeal) can be faxed to the BFPE or delivered in person. I just spoke with the BFPE Secretary (very nice lady) and she stated that by law both the Appeals Letter and the Questionnaire must be mailed in to the BFPE. She stated you can additionally fax the documents to them, but you still must mail the documents in. I also verified it myself, the law does state that the documents must be mailed in. Certified Mail is highly recommended.
If you have any additional supporting documents that are to be submitted for your appeal, those you can fax in or deliver in person, and not need to mail.
