Today, May 22nd, it went to the Governor. He has till July 14th to sign or veto or it becomes law Aug. 28th.
Don't ask the next question.... read the Missouri Constitution. If you haven't yet, its about time you did!

unfortunatley. if any of you visit Washington....

Washington will no longer recognize your CCW endorsement when this law takes effect because the age will be lowered to 19.

i guess i'll just scratch Washington off my list of places to visit. Missouri has plenty for me to see anyway.

No big loss for me as I never planned to visit there anyway.

Washington is a beautiful state to be sure ...... but the Kalifornia Kommies have infested the place.

This is indeed a possibility, other states may also make that choice. While I find it some what disappointing since MO is one of the most accepted endorsements, I will remain focused on the laws of MO as they typically have more impact on the people of MO.

I personally think the age limit, if any, should be 18. If the government can force a gun into your hands at 18, they have no authority to tell you that you can't pick one up of your own free will IMHO.

Perhaps the citizens of Washington should be concerned with altering their laws to conform with the 18 year old limit.

We do have to keep up withour "friends" from Jefferson City. I went to an event last evening for Missouri House speaker Tim Jones.
If there is a veto over ride needed for HB436, we need his support badly!
I didn't get my coat pulled back quite far enough, but trust me, it's there....

Oregon is even better! And they have an OC age of 18. The only thing is, that a few cities(like Portland) say you can open carry, just not with one in the chamber. But you don't have to let them inspect your firearm.

I regularly don't like do openly contest comments! But in this case I will make an exception! Having grown up in Oregon I can tell you Oregon in no way shape or form is better than the great state of Missouri!!

Talked to my new neighbor yesterday for the first time. Assistant police chief of my town, Maricopa, AZ. He is fresh from New Jersey and said he needed a brain transplant to handle all of the open carry he has been seeing But he was hired after 75% of the force was fired last year for reasons he did not mention. The chief kicks ass.

I hope Missouri just keeps getting better. After all, I want my renters to be able to protect my property And you never know if I might go back.... lol. Not likely after enjoying all of this awesome weather. Arizona would have to sink into the sewer first

It turned out as a positive that the NRA was not associated with the bill. Senator Nadal-whatshername launched an attack targeting the NRA during the debate on HB436, and Nieves shot it down by stating that the NRA was not involved in the bill.

HB420, which is the open carry bill was introduced by MO. State Representative Paul Curtman. A number of us who participate on this forum where the people who collectively drafted this bill which is on the Governor's desk as a part of HB436.
If you would like to thank Representative Curtman one way to do this is to contribute to his re-election campaign.
If we want to keep him in the Misouri Legislature, some one has to buck up.
