How do I change the background?

I have been looking for a way to change the default background on this forum.
The default 'white' background is some what hard on my eyes.
Is it possible to change my preference to a 'darker' background ?
If so how do I accomplish this, If not could this be a feature that could be added?

Translation: there is presently no choice in background color/skin

You might try lowering the brightness and/or contrast control on your monitor.

I have been tinkering with my browser and have found a compromise.
