Debunking the Stereotype: Women & Guns
It really doesn’t take a PhD to figure out that as gun sales have
increased, violent crime has decreased. In fact, statistics provided by
the Department of Justice prove that violent crime has decreased
from 47.5 percent to 42.9 percent in the last ten years. According
to the Department of Justice, “serious violent crime” includes murder,
rape and sexual assault among other serious crimes. More specifically,
during this time frame, rape and sexual assault decreased from 26.1
percent to 24.1 percent.
