Is It odd to buy a gun to fit a holster that you like? I really like the Fobus Thumb Lever Belt Holster. I open carry about 99.99% of the time. I rarely feel the need to have the lock feature that this holster offers but once in a great while when I am in a crowed of people I would love to have it. I would mulch rather buy a Smith & Wesson M & P .40 USA Made but the only holster that I can find that comes close to the Fobus is the 511 Thumb Drive, and I just don't like it as much.

So now I'm looking at either Glock or Springfield XD.40 to fit my holster needs. Any info would help. Thanks for your time

Not odd at all. Before I buy a gun now I find a holster first. If I can't find the right holster,i don't buy the gun. My reasoning is there is no reason to own it if I don't like carrying it. And I'm not going to like carrying it if I don't like the holster.
