This is wrong. One only needs a permit when CCW in a vehicle.

Case law supports both right now. The best bet for OC in a car is to have it completely visible, such as the dashboard in a holster. I am not a lawyer nor have I played one on television. If you are 18, it might be worth it to just case for travel as we did before Act 35 of 2011. CC is legal at 21 with license, which then makes vehicles a non-issue. Again, case law states that any firearm in a vehicle not in a case is concealed, even if it is sitting on the passenger seat. Would you be charged? Maybe, maybe not. Take this info for what its worth and ultimately, make your own decisions and do your own reading of the laws.

Moved it to the Wisconsin sub-forum.

Age to OC in WI is 18 - note to OC in a vehicle a permit is required.

Check out this thread - lots of good information:

Wrong. No permit is required to OC in a vehicle. But there is one problem with driving through school zones where a permit is required. Then, there is the possibility of LEO claiming the firearm was concealed.

A holstered firearm on the dashboard, while not driving through any school zones is perfectly legal for and 18 year old without a permit. However, I would never recommend keeping a firearm on the dashboard, regardless of age or possession of a permit.
