Breaking! Active shooter at clover park technical college.

]Breaking! Active shooter at clover park technical college.

During lunch my coworker left and called me when he was unable to get back on campus. I went outside to resume work and was told to take cover inside and that it is not a drill.

Is it a public or private school?

    Does WA allow carry there?

State, WA allows carry, school does not.

active shooter may be presumptious, I'm not seeing any reports of actual shots fired and the police scanner is full of routine calls from all over the county..... hopefully there is no actual shooting happening

    "Public"

I am sure that they violate state law just like LWIT in Kirkland does and attempts to disarm students and punish those who are armed.
Provision for free medical attendance and nursing, for clothing, for food, for housing, for the education of children, and a hundred other matters, might with equal propriety be proposed as tending to relieve the employee of mental strain and worry. --- These matters obviously lie outside the orbit of congressional power. Apparently an individual with a gun was chasing someone in a car. They left campus. According to the news report my friend saw. Why lock down when the threat already left? An excuse to waste taxpayer money to provide an illusion of safety.

Or with recent budget cuts they had to eliminate the Jedi curriculum from the academy, the newer officers can't feel a disturbance in the force and know what about to happen, if guy with gun plans to return etc etc etc.

Link to the news report? Was this confirmed information, or merely what some random person told the news team they heard some other random person say?

Hope this is not another prank like the one that occurred last fall on this campus.

Well they did just do an active shooter drill on campus a few months ago. I think they just took a call in the area as an excuse to practice more.

    You answered your own question.

And that really is the answer: they think they have to treat every minor incident as a full blown terrorist attack. They might call it "training", or testing their systems, or just as excuse for some possible overtime, but they're not going to pass up an opportunity.

Another excuse to exercise martial law.
I am not anti Cop I am just pro Citizen.

    U.S. v. Minker, 350 US 179, at page 187
"Because of what appears to be a lawful command on the surface, many citizens, because
of their respect for what only appears to be a law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their
    rights, due to ignorance." (Paraphrased)

+1, That is our melodramatic media.
If you voted for Obama to prove you are not a racist...
what will you do now to prove you are not stupid?

When i heard this I thought the same thing, then I also remembered there was a guy from the forums here who OCs @ that place. People freak out over seeing an openly carried gun, as if somehow the gun becomes less dangerous if someone conceals it. Logic fail.

Liberal logic: what you don't know, cant hurt you.

Maybe all schools like this should have an ROTC unit like the one at Faber College (Animal House). Let them deal with things like this
"If I shoot all the ammo I am carrying I either won't need anymore or more won't help"

"If you refuse to stand up for others now, who will stand up for you when your time comes?"

I wonder, given their reaction to 2nd amendment rights, do they also lock down the campus if they see someone with a newspaper?

    Sheep are becoming well trained

Sheeple successfully trained by the office of the minister of fear.

Several months ago a campus in NC went through this, lockdown, fear, panic, and it was someone with an umbrella

It achieves several objectives, none of them necessary or in any way beneficial to us, the citizenry.

    1. Overtime is great.

    2. Putting on the battle rattle is super cool. If they're lucky, it will even be "better than sex".

    3. It reinforces the mythos portrayed in every TV show involving police, namely that there are existential threats around us at all times, which are held at bay only through the efforts of a standing army of heroic soldier-police, who possess infinite technology, weaponry, and capability.

Well, until someone tries to hold them accountable for failing to protect someone who dials 911 instead of owning a firearm. Then they're utterly helpless.

Sounds like incentive for students to get carrying ... after all, the campus police did not catch him right? And nobody did.

If it was a real shooter, likely the same.

And who knows if it was a gun .. maybe a salami sandwich ... they are just (if not more) dangerous.
