I am new to CC. Only since May. And I still haven't CCed into a bank. I just place my gun under the seat.

Do you OC into your bank?
Any reactions the first time?

My bank is posted.
As soon as the wife and I get some financial matters taken care of, we *will* be changing banks so I'm very interested in hearing what others have to say in this thread.

Mine has no signs at all.
But they were held up a couple month back.
Most of the tellers recognise me but I still don't want to cause any problems. They have to sleep at night.

I use the Bank of America and OC just about every time I go inside. They have an armed security guard and a greeter before you get to the tellers ... and I have never had any adverse reaction from any of them.

I open carry into my bank without reaction from the employees.

I did hear one comment from another customer to a teller asking about "if that was legal" and glancing towards me.

As I was depositing a check in an amount larger than the amount I was withdrawing, I didn't think it counted as a robbery.

 :uhoh:

I OC into PNC every time I go, and Chase is also very gun friendly
My wife banks at Park National and they never said anything to her either

I figure just going into and coming out of a bank makes one a richer target
Why wouldn't you be armed?
Why would anyone do business with a bank that has a problem with that?

My bank, (well credit union), recently put up signs that say "no firearms, no hoods glasses ect" something to that extent...

I was conducting normal buisness with the teller when I asked her (the teller) about the recent policy change, she was no help, so I asked to speak to the manager

I explained to the manager that I could not support a buisness or bank that may use my funds to support anti 2nd amendment policies, or invest their (and MY) money in any other anti American beliefs.

She explained to me that they just do not want to have a panic, and that carrying concealed would be fine on their properties.

Either way in this state, "no gun" signs do not hold the force of law, as you have to be asked to leave private property and refuse that request before you are criminaly trespassing.

If you are interested, the credit union in question is Numerica Credit Union.

I have mixed feelings

Lets make it clear. In your state the sign has no force, but in Ohio the sign does have force.

Wouldn't they sleep better at night if they knew that OC in the bank could stop a robbery cold without a shot fired?

Cops OC for a reason.

You have the wrong mindset from the get-go.....you say you " don't want to cause any problems ".......why would " you " be causing any problems, you said there's no sign on your banks doors, so if someone ELSE gets all bent out of shape over you carry'in a gun, whether in your bank or anywhere else, it's THEIR problem which stems from THEIR ignorance, NOT YOURS.

Another thing, you said "they have to sleep at night"......assuming your talking about the bank employes.....well.....better they loose a little sleep at night than not go home at all (after a robbery), right!?.....so here, AGAIN, you have the wrong mindset. Those with the " O M G ...IT'S A MAN (or woman) WITH A GUN .... IN A BANK (of all places) just don't/ or refuse, to see the lack of logic in their thinking.

The more of us "openly" carrying our firearms can go a long way in changing that mindset.

Now I've carryied openly nowhere near as long as some on this forum have (going on two years now,..... maybe) but I think nothing of it now.

As for carry'in in ALL my local banks(Huntington, Citizens, Apple Creek Bank, PNC, and a local credit union), a few of us in the area had to push the issue with two of 'em, but their ok with it now.

Just my $.02

There is a Huntington across from the new casino in Columbus. I had to go in and saw their CPZ signs, so I disarmed (no other choice, in this case :( ).

On entering, I saw the 'bad guy trap' that locks the entry doors if you set off the metal detector.

If someone else wants to fight that battle, go for it. I'm happy with Vinton County Bank.

I've heard that 5/3rd Bank corp. is very Anti-Gun. I called them, maybe two years ago, and it didn't matter how much you might deposit with 'em, they still said no guns were allowed and that's AFTER I said I was interested in a checking account! Think they still are.

Their banking centers in Kroger stores are not posted. Their stand alone banks posted sign saying something to the effect - no guns per Ohio Revised Code 2923.1212.:uhoh:

I dumped 5/3rd Bank.
