Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks to me like the only way this could have happened is if he had his finger on the trigger or there was something in the vicinity of his holster that snagged his trigger.

I would probably bet on the "finger on trigger" scenario.

I am betting on finger-on-trigger too. I see it so many times a day (while I am being swept, BTW), that I wonder why more folks aren't negligently shooting themselves and others!

One husband yesterday was trying to get his wife to select a gun. "Here, hold this. See how it feels in your hand. Put your finger on the trigger. See how it feels in your hand." :banghead:

If you aren't going to be shooting anyone or anything, keep your boogerhook off the bang switch! Is it just me, or does this sort of thing seem to be increasing with the number of agencies using firearms with "trigger-lever safeties" and holsters that cover the trigger guard?

Surprising this has always been a problem with revolvers. NYC used a scabbard type holster with a covered trigger guard. Seems when the officers would reholster they would have the finger on the bang switch while encountering the holster~<BANG>. Most departments moved away from covered trigger guards for revolvers.

I'm calling shenanigans, someone else must have shot him!
After all, he's the only trained and professional enough to carry that gun!

There must be a grassy knoll somewhere near...

Perp in one hand, re-holstering with the other.

Practice, and if something doesn't feel right STOP!

After reading the article, I have come to the conclusion that Mayor Bloomputz should have formed "Mayors Against Careless Cops", and armed all the law-abiding civilians in NYC. Handguns don't go **BANG** all by themselves! At least somebody in the NYPD was smart enough to not release the officers identity! Pax...

Exactly how does one "current the company currently"? Pax...

A typo obviously ... I don't like the fact that glock still supports state & LEO activities in my state, even after passage of PA13-3 ... the horrible gun control act of this year.

They are supporting people who will be busting down doors very soon .... just for owning a firearm
