Obama issues new executive orders against guns. Bans re-importation, BC corp./trusts.

"On the day B. Todd Jones is being sworn in as the new director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the White House said the ATF is proposing to conduct background checks on firearms registered to a trust or corporation. The administration said felons and others prohibited from having firearms currently are able to avoid background checks by choosing this route."

the gov't can call almost anyone it wants to a "felon".

So I am a proponent that once you are a free man, felon or not, you get your gun rights back.

Does that mean we (citizens) can't buy former "Fast & Furious" rifles?

Can we get some data on how many crimes are committed with firearms owned by trusts/charities? I can't believe they really think a criminal mind will set up an enterprise like that to avoid a background check. Did Lanza or Holmes or Ramalamadingdong start one before going off on their crazy train? Riiiiiiight.

The OP is correct, Obama is issuing an "Executive Order" against guns, at least that's the NRA's perception. Obama is attempting to by-pass congress approval through this means.

    Please sign the NRA petition.

    It's a general I-hate-Obama-and-his-firearm-policies.

    So, no, I won't sign.

If one of the national organizations comes up with a petition against a specific action by the Obama regime, I will consider it.

The linked petition to which I replied says NOTHING about the treaty. Again, it is a general I-hate-Obama-and-his-firearm-policies petition.

    I stand by my post.

    Moving on.

It's illegal for a felon to possess a firearm, whether he owns it or not, and whether the ownership is individual or as a member ofa trust.

But, it is legal for a felon to own a firearm, either individually or as a member of a trust.

Ownership is not the same thing as possession.

If a felon is wealthy enough that his trust owns NFA items (which is what the proposal is about), but he never possesses them, so what? Or for that matter, if he owns a gun store or manufacturer, or even just a few shares of stock, so what?

So, since this is a legally pointless exercise, we have to look at what it's really about: further burdening the legal ownership and transfer of NFA items that the government would prefer never be in private hands.

right now it looks like that nothing will change.

looks like the Soetoro administration is just doing a scam to make it look like they are doing something.....without really doing anything....

Dudley Brown's National Association for Gun Rights has nothing to do with the nra, NAGR is the anti-NRA and sponsors NRAWOL.net A Pro-Gun Criticism of the NRA http://www.nrawol.net/ One must be SERIOUSLY tone deaf to miss that.
