Yep K is more to get the parents use to the idea of the public school system's attempt to turn all the children into little socialists. The only thing preventing it is the parents. When the parents don't care or the child is missing a parent or two it is easier to convert them.

Thinking about it, it would be a truly remarkable feat for the person I just described to successfully impersonate me. :lol:
While I've a well-developed enough sense of empathy to put myself in their heads, I anticipate the following result should such an individual manage to momentarily wrap his brain around the way I think:

At that age, their schooling by the government is a preponderance of their moral education - many parents abdicate that responsibility to the state. Water boarding may be more disconcerting, but no more effective.

"The Norfolk Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Sept. 8 at Killam Avenue and 41st street. Two individuals, unaffiliated with the university, reported they were part of a larger group of persons walking on Killam crossing 41st street when they heard someone yell "run."
The victims heard multiple shots fired as they fled with the group. One person was shot in the hand and the other one was shot in the buttocks as they fled. Both individuals have been transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is reported to have fled on foot away from the campus area on west on 41st street. He is described as:
Black/Male
6-3 in height
Last seen wearing a white v-neck shirt and red or pink pants.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the shooting or who may have seen the suspect earlier in the evening should contact ODU Police investigations at 683-4000 or the Norfolk Police Department.
The ODU PD is encouraging all members of the ODU community to avoid off-campus parties and activities in this area.
Utilize the university shuttle service, SafeRide service or call for an on campus escort.
Immediately report suspicious or aggressive persons to the police.
Members of the ODU community residing in or near this area are strongly encouraged to contact the ODU PD to discuss safety strategies. "

Well off-campus, I have been known to OC, even when hanging out with students and faculty. The last time I did this, the only person to notice was one of my best friends, who also carries.

If I remember correctly, you can OC on ODU campus (I've actually done it), just not in the buildings themselves, and unfortunately that policy only holds for non-students/faculty/volunteers. Students, faculty, and volunteers are not authorized to carry on campus, or even store a firearm in their vehicle. :banghead: Of course, I don't know why anyone would leave themselves vulnerable and NOT carry on ODU considering the high rate of crime there. Guess each individual needs to weight the pros and cons of their actions (carry vs. not carry and what the consequences of that might be). Personally, no education will do me a darned bit of good if I'm dead.
