Stopped in to Wal-Mart after work 1130pm and found a 1000 round case of AE 556 at $445.00.
20rd boxes of 556 and 308; 50rd boxes of 45s with no lines to stand in.
Maybe the light at the end of the tunnel or just a tease.

I've been seeing more and more ammo on the shelves on my local Wally World. It still flies off the shelf. When everyone realizes that they don't have to panic buy any more we will be good to go.

I need to run by the local wally world to see what they have in stock.

Ordered 1000 rds of .308 from sportsmans guide back in January and it's been on back order. Every once in a while they send me a notification that the ship date has been pushed back and asking if I want to cancel. I click "No" and just wait. Same thing happened mid last year with some ammo and it eventually arrived.

The Walmart here seems to be well stocked on ammo, I asked the clerk if the shortage was over. He said mostly, but there were still a few that were difficult to get.

Stopped by one this morning in Louisville and they were fully stocked up. Now I just need to get some for some range time...withdrawals are a pain.

Anybody spot any .22 long rifle there?

My local Walmart(Frankfort) had 50 round boxes of CCI(I don't remember what type/loading) at about 3:00 on a Sunday Afternoon the week before last. They had probably 100 boxes in stock. I didn't buy any, as I used up my 3-box limit on the Federal 9mm.

Mt. Sterling Wal*Mart; .40SW is 19.87$ for a box of Federal FMJ. There was five boxes left after I got mine. I counted twenty-seven boxes of .30-06, two 20rnd boxes of 7.62x39, a single box of 50nds of 556, 20 boxes of 12GA, and 20GA shotty, and two 100rnd boxes of 22LRs.

And apparently, according to the person who escorted me from the sporting goods station, to the customer service desk, it is now wal-mart policy to escort ammo purchasers to the customer service desk to pay for the ammo. And, we're only allowed one box of ammo, per person, per day. I was told that you couldn't just buy the ammo at, say, 11:30pm, then get another box just after midnight.

I'm 25 years old, I was carded twice for the ammo. I've never been carded at Wally world, not when I buy alcohol, or when I used to buy cigs.

Drake, those Walmart ammo policies not only change from week to week, but no two stores seem to have quite the same rules.

Maybe so, but it feels like total Bull Sh-t to parade a ammo buy through the store, past the registers, to the customer service desk; I felt embarrassed, and felt as though Wal*mart was making an example out of me, or other ammo buyers. I hate being toyed with like that.

Oh, sure, it's all fine and dandy to card someone who is buying pistol, or rifle ammo, if they look to be under 19 (or 21). but it seems like a form of corporate gun control, to inconvenience customers when they're trying to buy a product.

Limit someone to just one food product, like, you're only allowed one pack of ramen, and nothing else, per person, per day; And I'm willing to bet that wal*mart would go out of business pretty quickly, and probably have a lawsuit on its head for some random charge.

I'm sorry for ranting, I'm generally aggravated because Wal*mart has the cheapest ammo that I've found, anywhere within driving distance for my wallet, and I can only get one box per day. I'm glad I stocked up on .45 Long colt, and .30-06 before the corporate ammo hoarding got too bad, at least if the Zombie apocalypse was to happen next week, or whenever, I'll be able to pick a few thousand zombies off with my rifle, and fall back to my revolver while I'm digging a hole for me to sit and cry in.

I try to enjoy such a "perp walk" through the store. Along the way I'll point out other stuff they sell that could certainly be used for nefarious purposes, in a friendly way of course.

What I've found is that sometimes the cash register back in sporting goods has no money in it to make change, so they really don't have much choice but to send you elsewhere if you're paying with green. The fact they insist on having an employee escort me? Well, they've just become my ammo bearer. Hopefully my purchase that day is a weighty one.

Really want to have some fun? If no employees can be found to unlock the ammo cases, crack the code for their phones and and page yourself an employee back to sporting goods. (Google the topic, one site or another always seems to have the correct current info.)

Lot of 7mm, some .380, and other odd types. No 9mm, no .45. Survey of two stores.

Local wally world here in Lex seems to always have my .40 in stock at any given time 50 / 100 round boxes, various types from cheap tula steel to cheap tula brass to semi cheap winchester etc.

Normally with the .40 is some .45 in stock, I have yet to find the unicorn of .22 in stock at the 2 I frequent.

While I was in North Carolina on vacation I was in the town of Wendell, I happened into the most amazing gun shop I have ever had the pleasure of visiting! It's a little place called Perry's! It really doesn't look like it would be much from the outside but it was wall-to-wall GUNS, GUNS, GUNS, GUNS & MORE GUNS! *LOL*

Sadly the reason for visiting Wendell has since up and moved to Kentucky and I'll never get to visit that amazing Gun Shop that dreams are made of.

Just wanted to mention this in case you're ever around the Wendell area, Walking Wolf.

I was in the Bloomington MN Walmart this morning. NO ammo of ANY sort. NONE.Not one single round. Not even obscure calibers. Maybe they just figured it wasn't worth the hassle and quit selling it completely?
