Before Aetna dropped my family plan (2 adults, 1 child), and totally pulled out of the state for individual policies, our plan was $1350 a month (dental included) and was going to go up another $99 a month if we wanted to keep it through 2014. Looking at what is available starting Jan. 1, the best plan is about $1200 a month but doesn't offer anywhere near the coverage we had with Aetna.

After we buy a separate dental plan, which again won't be as good as what we had before, we'll be at around $1300-$1350 a month for a plan that now has a deductible and coinsurance where before we had none of that.

Nullify, opt out.

This is exactly what I am doing.

First year my fine is going to be $95.

I implore ALL people between 18-35 to opt out and NOT buy insurance.

The entire funding arm of the law rests with this age group paying premiums for the older sicker people.

If the healthy young people don't provide the cash with their premiums then the entire law goes BUST.

I know I said I would never reply to CaPatriot, but he's right. I just turned 29, this is what I will be doing, opting out. Health "insurance" is not insurance at all. It's a huge scam, propped up by the state, and the "insurance" companies and hospitals ripping everyone off.

Well, your promise is secure .. you are not replying to CaP ..

It IS a huge scam ... I won't be paying any penalty either ... if you don't get a tax refund, they cannot collect ...
