As Connecticut Carry has been talking about and documenting for quite a while now, there is much trouble in the house of the state police.

Connecticut Carry Director Ed Peruta had been working on obtaining documents related to this investigation through his private endeavor American News and Information Services. Like him, the State Police Union has been looking into this for a while and they have met many of the same roadblocks, including being asked to be quiet on the matter.

Hopefully something will be done. I am not sure about other states but in Connecticut, a lot of the State Police act as if they are above the law. My wife filed a complaint a few years ago that went to the (internal) ethics review board. It was for a trooper (not an officer) who ended up being reprimanded. Most of the State Police who drive patrol cars skirt the same basic road laws that us citizens are required to abide by. This is mostly from their aggressive driving, speeding, following too closely, etc. I know that when I see it, I write down the plate number, date, time, approx location and then report the incident.

Seems I strayed off course from the initial post. Thank you for bring this information to us and I look forward to an update.

All has not been "well" at DESPP for years inn respect to records issues.

http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/s...-Connecticut-Weapons-Registry-Database-Online

In the above thread ^^^^^ I asked a question that was not answered. An answer would be useful in respect to showing DESPP is improperly withholding records .. but I got no response from ctcarry ...perhaps rich would answer the query today.

Rich has visited this thread since ....but failed to update it? Bummer.

And visited again...

Just to cure your curiosity.

Names and addresses are not released. The only info you can FOI(caliber, type, town, serial) is listed on the CTCarry site. Nothing more.

Individually Responsible.

from the linked other thread...
Since the 2013 Gun Ban on 4/4/2013, we have had many people tell us that they want to know what firearms the State Police know about. While we are unwilling to post that data because it would potentially expose the names and addresses of people

Clearly ctcarry has stated that they have gotten name and addresses .... ? is : did they get it through FOIA response of this database .... or via a different FOIA request.

ctcarry will not say but I intend, since they do not wish to discuss this issue openly, to file a FOIA request asking for all records that DESPP released to them in the past 6 months (via ctcarry and other monikers).

I doubt ctcarry wishes any harm to gun owners...very little doubt. Wondering what harm DESPP wishes though...

DESPP has gone FOIA-dead.
